Electrical Designer
Selected candidate for this position will be trained to design electrical control systems for industrial ovens and washers. This list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- AutoCAD Electrical
- Basic PLC programing (Allen Bradley)
- Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
- Skilled using spreadsheet and word processing software
- Attention to detail
- Capability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Education:
- 2 years associate degree in electrical design or engineering technology
- Related industrial experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Design electrical control systems, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints.
- Program, and debug PLC’s (program logic controls), operator interfaces, communication devices, and frequency drives. Allen Bradley a plus
- Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
- Work with customers and vendors on equipment design.
- Ensure conformance to electric codes and to company standards for quality.
- Develop and maintain electrical prints and panel layouts using AutoCAD electrical.
- Help with selecting electrical components for the job.
- Develop working relationships with Mechanical Engineering and with other departments to address and resolve issues.
- Travel to customer sites for commissioning
- Occasional weekend work.
- Employ safe work practices and PPE
- Complete special projects, as assigned
